Our Sydney Adventure # 1
Am 22.12. We are finally in the beautiful (and arrived mainly large) Sydney. The picnic area where we spent the night before was still about 70km from the city, so it went off not too late, because we expected a lot of traffic. So we are about to go in the direction of City 10. Once the traffic was dense and the streets were wider play again Tina Navigator and Timo has then brought safely to their destination. We have settled on that day only Steph in her hostel, and were then quickly pick up the mail at our Christmas packages. This has also worked with the discontinuation quite well. A parking lot to the short stop, we had found quickly, but then went off the drama. We have driven countless laps to search for a parking lot where we stand long enough may, at the post office and then run back. After a few rounds, we have decided on a parking garage. Outside was nothing in it what the park is it, so we are reingefahren first, because if the input is high enough, one can think that everything else is just as high. But think! When we have digested the barrier the first shock with the price ($ 10 for first hour), we saw the warning bar with the maximum height: 1,80 m. That could never fit in life! Try it, we had won, because we would have had to speak through the exit through the whole car park. But there was simply nothing that the pipes on the ceiling came closer and closer. Even when we surfboard, gas cylinder and replacement canisters were taken from the roof, we were still too high. So there was only the possibility that we ask the security officers to open ourselves to the entrance gate so that we can go out again. Fortunately, she was so nice and has presented us. So we could then go after many trains turn back to the entrance out. We then searched but still prefer a car park on the street and are fast to the post office because we were so confident that our package had to be there ... If they were unfortunately not: (So we are sad again gone back to the car and have again made from the inner city. Our goal then was a campsite on the Katha & Max (our two companions Fraser Iceland) on Christmas Eve we are. There we are lucky to even get a parking space for one night, because our hostel was only from the 23.12. posted.
On 23 then we have still done the morning a couple of ways and then we went to our hostel. Our Willi now stands alone on a park strip in front of the campsite and we took the train into the city. That's a lot easier, cheaper and less stressful than a car. Unfortunately, we had our clothes as well as back haul in a backpack;) But never mind.
After we had done everything in the hostel, we are still a bit left to do some sightseeing and have (of course, what else) looked at the famous Harbour Bridge and the much more famous opera. From the water we get the best panoramic view of the opera, so we took a ferry from a port on the other end of the opera and have looked at from all sides. Later we went but still went straight and have just looked at the opera. Here are some facts: It is not white, but beige with a few white spots. In addition, the roofs are "only" beige tiled with white tiles and rows between them. Nevertheless, it is of course an imposing and beautiful building which you have to see if you're already in Sydney.
On Christmas Eve we were strolling with Katha & Max a bit through the city. Apart from countless clothing and jewelry stores, we have also found a German bakery and first bought a delicious brown bread. It was like heaven on earth, we eat for months schlabberigen toast real bread and there is sometimes a blessing. In the evening we went went to a German restaurant for dinner. For Tina, there were rolls and roast pork for Timo. Each with dumplings and red cabbage. Unfortunately, there were no dumplings, but it was always delicious. And the best part: there was even Köstritzer beer! As in the home. Super!
In the coming days we will explore Sydney on and on and will keep you informed.
Until then, Merry Christmas and thanks for your greetings and wishes;)
